Toner Cause Cancer?
I work with Xerox DocuTech 6180s and there is often a large amount of toner in the air if there is no guilty or something and all we just discussed it may cause cancer heard somewhere cos I can. although not everything these days!
Well, the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) has classified as a toner Group 2B carcinogen. This is because it contains Carbon Black and is in powder form, which is easily capable of covering the airway surfaces to breathe. Studies have shown that Black carbon can cause cancer in rats when exposed to it in powder form in the air they breathe. For this reason, although not a carcinogen at high risk, you should use dust masks when exposed to it during periods prolonged. l Hope technical.Hope not sound too helped me understand.
