Write Universal printer driver using VB 6.0 / API?

If any body help write Universal Device drivers Laser Printer, Dot-Metrix and inkjet printer or file. DLL to support me to define or allocate the runtime size paper with user-defined margins, so programmetically can manage the operation of the printer / reports as per requirement of the user.

Nice approach. But somethings you need to know ..... Creating universal printer driver is not so easy. For VB6 can not use only their best. As you need to install Windows SDK (W-SDK) to write generic code printers and where you can choose only the common functions directly exposed to all printers. Here you go. To find out if you want to develop an API using VB6, Yes you can. As I did the same for one of my application, where the setting of margins / size Paper / source / ink is expected choice for users so they can establish, as they need printer attached. For this, I only used the "print" (public class), which comes with VB as the default functionality. Type the word "printer" and click a "." you will see a list of functions that serve its purpose. Use this class, create their own methods to expose the display settings, create pockets of property, obtain the values of screen them INI file or (some input encryption settings). Read these values, while printing with printer objects and approve the contents to be printed Printer.Print the method which has the text / image, go to the LPT port or USB port to print the paper. I'm not sure you've tried this item before or not. But I using the same for Dot-Matix (IBMGR printer), HP-Laser and Canon (Ink-Jet) and working properly. Hope this helps
