What is the best starter kit for the purchase of a coin collector looking to organize your collection?

I am looking for a starter kit for a birthday present for my boyfriend. He has a small collection of coins of different, but wants to organize and start collecting REALLY. Can someone give me some tips as to what equipment would be most appropriate collection for a collector like him? I found a few on eBay and Amazon, but not I'm sure if I should buy it. Thank you!

You might consider visiting a local coin shop for suggestions. It really depends on what your boyfriend interested, and what you already may have. EBay kit is probably a good way to organize a collection. I really recommend "Red Book" (found on the link above), a small amplifier is a very useful, and perhaps some sort of supply items (such 2X2S, flips, plastic pipes, folders, etc.), and a good book on the coins of classification could be useful.
