Solid Ink

Solid Ink
is the solid ink printer, exactly the same as a photocopy machine?

I was wondering. It's solid ink printer, a machine photocopy? Or a photocopy machine is just one example of a solid ink printer? I hope you understand. Please elaborate further. thanks!

A solid ink printer uses solid ink sticks that are melted down to a liquid state and then sprayed over a steel drum surface and then transferred and applied to paper. These have been around for at least a decade or more. Most copy machines are / were based toner. Light original and photocopy using mirrors to create an exact image of a light sensitive drum and duplicate the image onto paper. Many All-In-One and copiers in use today a scanner to convert the image into a digital format and use a laser or inkjet printer to make duplicate copies. So in answer to your question, no, solid ink printer does not mean that a photocopier. Hope that helps machine.
