The knowledge of many of the stocks and investing is limited to what they see on the boards of major stock exchanges of financial information through news on television and the daily list of the actions of fluctuations in value in the newspaper. There are investors, however, prefer to put their money into more small.

These actions are called micro actions, and can be found in OTCBBs and the Pink Sheets. Knowing a little about the history of the Pink Sheets is useful when a potential investor is looking for a company capitalization of microenterprises to invest in.

Early in the 20th century (1913), a company United States-based National Bureau calls the listing began reporting the prices of securities and bond prices across markets, publishing stock quotes on pink sheets of paper, and the posting of bond prices in the yellow sheets of paper.

The reports have been very useful for traders, especially for the counter (OTC) traders and investors, and eventually the word pink sheets became synonymous with operations actions on the counter.

Towards the end of the 20th century (1997), the National Quotation Bureau was subject to a new management team that is dedicated to using technology to improve services offered to customers. Shortly after the new management team took over in 1999, introduced an Internet NQB real time quote over the counter stocks and bonds called electronic quotation service.

In 2000, the National Bureau of quote soon renamed Pink Sheets LLC and operated www.pinksheets.com, a web portal for more information on the values against and issuers.

Recently, Pink Sheets LLC has changed its name to Pink OTC Markets, Inc. The company press release said the change of a society a limited liability corporation and reflects more accurately communicates the company's position as a technology provider for the securities and financial counter.

The Pink Sheets is not a stock exchange is a private company that used to publish the quotations in the pink sheets, but now it does through its electronic trading system. The market makers and agents use the pink sheets to publish the stocks that are selling and ask for the bids.

Companies whose shares are quoted on the stock exchanges have to meet certain requirements, such as the presentation of financial statements with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Each bag has its own minimum listing requirements, as the number of shares listed, total market value, stock prices, and the number of shareholders. Companies listed on the Pink Sheets need not comply with any of them.

While firms in the leaves pink are not required to comply with the requirements, not those in the pink sheets that have shares that are traded over the counter, are the companies that operate and provide substantial information to the market and the audited financial statements and the publication of certain information to Pink OTC Markets Inc. These companies are listed with the Pink Sheets OTCQX, on two levels: the highest levels PremierQX and PrimeQX for companies that are too small to PremierQX but still fulfill the requirements information.

Since 2007, all companies quoted on the Pink Sheets, which are unable or unwilling to comply with the requirements OTCQX are classified as current information, limited information, no information or warning Emptor. According to Pink OTC Markets Inc., these categories are intended to provide more information on the companies listed on the pink sheets, and are not an indication of the quality of existing businesses.

Business investors considering these companies for investment should still exercise caution as the list can include speculative, questionable, or distress.
