Can I share a phone line with a printer / scanner / copier / fax machine via a special connector separation?

I only have one phone line and I heard that you can share a line with a fax / copier printer with a special connector. Is this right?

most multi-function units, have a special feature called DRPR or distinctive ring pattern recognition. That is, if you have service main ring with your phone company, you can have a second special issue of a ring road and the fax is recovered only when it rings that pattern. other than that, you can get a fax breaker that sends incoming faxes to your machine and the regular calls to your phone connected to the switch. There is no device that lets you talk on the phone and send / Receive faxes in one line. Both use the line and theres no way to combine them. However, with the switch, which can share the line automatically.
