What metal is used to make a magnetic chalkboard?

My daughter wants a panel of the walls of his room with a metal blade that can be put magnets and write through dry-erase markers. What kind of metal should be used? It must be magnetic steel and color (silver). I've heard you need to use galvanized steel, but I was not sure. Besides, you know where I can buy a sheet of metal or, in bulk?
