Most large yachts carry personal water craft (jet skis and wave riders) and many captains and managers are very concerned for his safety and the legal consequences of an accident. All maritime administrations in the Mediterranean require operators to have a certificate. Interestingly, in the UK is the legal requirement (though local bye laws and often insist on pilot certification and insurance companies no longer ensure unskilled pilots). This has led some managers and crew to assume that therefore no need to worry about the training of operators of water craft from many yachts carry a British flag. In noting that against this view I would draw your attention to two issues.

The UK may not require licenses to operate small boats, but the official Governing Body for recreational boating in the UK, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) has created a very clear and demanding standards for the operation of pleasure craft and vessels individual in particular. The RYA has even made the effort to create operating rules specific to personal watercraft use of large yachts. For yachts ignore such a clear and specific guidance would surely be considered as reckless by a court following an accident.

THE SOLUTION.

Blue Water In several of our instructors have been certified as "trainers" by the RYA. This is the most senior instructor launches and allows us not only to train ship's crew of basic and advanced power and PWC's licenses but also to train other instructors. This means you can have your own trainers on board his yacht. May be legally certified letter of the guests to operate personal watercraft. The yacht will have to be inspected to ensure it meets all safety standards to be an RYA school but this is easily fixed locally based inspectors. Jet instructor courses ski run regularly and can be performed aboard the yacht or in our classrooms, in Antibes, Palma and Fort Lauderdale.
