Foot Control

Foot Controls typically include a single lever that controls the speed of engine air and electric handpiece. Single foot lever controls have the disadvantage that they can essentially be operated from one position, so that, as dental professionals around the patient moves may be necessary to move the foot control. Furthermore, controls two-foot lever available, but they suffer from essentially the same problem. Several attempts have been made to solve this problem, for example, providing an actuator to control foot, which in essence can be operated from any position around the foot control. Currently there are foot controls available with an actuator disk (a low angle cone, determined on the basis foot control), which provides increased access for the dental professional.
It has been found that the cable connecting these foot controls prior art (often called "springs" in art) to the dental instrument and its connection point with the foot control itself pose problems for the dental professional trader. The cable, for example, typically runs from a closet behind the patient to control and, therefore, lies between dentist and dental assistant on the floor. This space is crowded and often limited due to wheels, feet, and other cables. The operator (often the dentist) is constantly moving the rheostat as he or she changes positions. Furthermore, the design of many available dental foot controls dictate that the cable connection point to the foot control (rheostat) not usable by the foot of the operator. This forces the operator to control foot switch to a different position when the cable and their relationship is "on the road." Summasy of tlze Invention Among the various features and advantages of the present invention can observe the provision of an improved foot control that reduces clutter on the floor between the dental professional (s) and the patient.
