How to remove double-sided tape on the paper currency?

A friend gave me three old deutchmarks (sp?) That are the remnants of adhesive tape double face on the back side where someone had probably in a notebook. What is the best method to remove the tape without destroying the currency?

I have tried putting them in the freezer ... the old glue Flake probably only right then. Goo remover can also get in your local hobby lobby, Michaels craft store on the island of scrapbooking that is out of all types of glue on the back of the photos, I bet that would be a great job in the currency too.
