In all three types of laser engraving, laser very effectively removes a small surface of the piece, as almost all the energy of light (laser) is converted into heat energy. This highly focused and collimated beam heats the machine fairly quickly, therefore, an excessive amount of cooling systems are used to maintain the normal temperature of the machine during the engraving process. Sometimes, however, the pulsed laser to reduce excessive heat in an interval.
All different patterns in the laser engraving process is done through a pre-programmed driver-controlled environment. There is also flat table or drum engraving devices. This is when the laser beam directed most of their energy so that the surface is recorded at correct depth. This allows a quantity of material being removed each time, allowing a uniform etching. Generally, this method is performed with the flat surfaces with little change in height. For surfaces with varying heights, it applies mechanisms such as dynamic autofocus system. This is when the laser parameters are constantly changed (changes in real time) that allows the beam to adapt to changes in the material. However, these mechanisms require working with what is known as pilot or pilot lasers, such as ultrasound, infrared and visible light.
