Cartridge Fax

Color fax machine, we can state that does not need the color cartridge?

I wonder if anyone can help ... We have a HP Color 1240 / b / w fax, but we need not use color and now the machine will not work because the color cartridge is dry, I suspect. Do I have to buy a new color cartridge, the B / W has no place in that slot ... Tks!

HP 1240 Fax is not compatible with the backup printing mode. Reserve printing mode is a feature that is available on some models of printer / fax machines in the printer can work if one cartridge runs out of ink. The cartridge slots are different sizes for Black & Color. Do not try to insert a cartridge into the slot Black color cartridge, cartridge can break the transport and fax machine will be useless. Install a cartridge color since there is no other solution, unfortunately!
