Why is my Brother toner cartridge has a label that says "Removing the label may void the warranty?"?

on a sensor, but could this be? I removed it. Cover the lid can be removed to add more toner and also found the two sensors on each side that can be covered with tape so that the cartridge will continue to work.

The label is probably some kind of access port cover that is used to fill the toner in the first place. If they are disturbed and that the cartridge is not working any longer (before it runs out) you can not go after them for a warranty issue. Moreover, if it seeps into the printer, it will void the warranty of the printer too.
